Charles Wendelken-Wilson on "To Fly Unbounded" - "I've known your enormous facility as a composer for lo these many years now: your rhythmic verve, your ear for color and contrast in orchestration, even your sense of humor. But what a fabulous success as a writer for voices!!! The choral sounds are magnificent and the first entrance of the solo Soprano gives me goose bumps at each repeated hearing. What a hidden font of emotional lyricism you are."
The American Prize on "Resolution" - The opening is especially poignant: a sinister motive in tuba is juxtaposed with tender woodwinds and vibraphone. Another highly expressive moment occurs toward the end, where the motive takes shape of a soaring melody, so Straussian, lush, and expressive. The work is expertly orchestrated."
